Some people call Deyna Novva’s mom. Learn more about the important work she does for all of us at Novva!

Headshot of Deyna ValdovinosWhat does a typical day look like for you?

As part of my routine on my way to work, I have to stop for coffee! I am currently helping with onboarding new team members, which allows me to introduce myself and provide a bit of information on a few things we do. More importantly, it gives me the opportunity to make everyone feel welcome. If I’m not onboarding, you can catch me working with our VP of Marketing, Beccy Bingham, on upcoming events or ways to give to the community. In between onboarding and event work, I am catching up on emails, brainstorming ideas on how to keep our team motivated, and ways to create a great vibe at work where everyone feels happy and comfortable working together!

What is your favorite part of being on the Novva team?

I love that we all have such respect for each other and value each other’s work and ideas. We are able to collaborate with such an amazing team who go above and beyond to help each other out.

If you could trade roles with someone else at Novva for the day, who would it be and why?

I would switch positions with someone from our Mission Critical team. Why? Because of their knowledge of troubleshooting the various data center systems, such as control and monitoring systems and electrical distribution. Importantly, I’d like to memorize all this information so that I could be familiar with how our data center runs.

What trend in the industry are you most excited about?

I am very much intrigued by everything happening with AI! When AI made its grand entrance into the world of technology, I think many of us were worried about the potential to be replaced within our jobs. Overall, I do look forward to what new perspectives this will bring and how companies can use it to their advantage. I’m interested to see how the use of advanced technology works in tandem with human employees to achieve an even higher level of success.

Outside of work, what’s something you’re passionate about?

I am a new mom, which has obviously been life-changing, to say the least. But it has given me the opportunity to be more passionate about many things in my life and look at things with a new perspective; a chance to reinvent this new version of me, not just outside of work but at work as well.

What would you be doing if you weren’t working in the data center/tech/telecom industry?

I would most likely be working as a paralegal for the attorneys firm I was working at before joining the Novva team.

What is something that you think would surprise people to hear about you?

Shocker … I actually do not know how to swim!

What is the one thing you would bring with you to a desert island?

My copy of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

“Be a Goldfish.” – Ted Lasso
